Late 19th century ˝ morocco and marbled boards, text and plates very good, with light browning, a very good copy. Ex- John Carter Brown library with bookplate on front pastedown, with later release hand-stamp, and red ink facsimile signature hand-stamp on top right corner of first text leaf.

First edition of volume IV of de Bry’s Little Voyages, on travel and exploration in Africa, Asia and the East Indies. The text of this volume includes the conclusion of Jan Huygen van Linschoten’s voyages to Africa and the East Indies, 1583-1592; the conclusion of Cornelius Houtman’s voyage to the East Indies, 1595-1597; and a brief account of the voyage to the East Indies by Jacob Corneliszoon Neck and Wybrandt Warwijck, 1598-1599. The plates focus on botany and the zoology from the explored regions.
